Dr. Fred Smith

Lead Pastor

Pastor Fred has served three churches as the Senior Pastor. His first pastorate was the First Baptist Church of Worland, Wyoming (now CrossPoint) from 1997 to 2005. Pastor Fred has also served two churches in Texas: Calvary Baptist Church, Tyler, TX (2005-2019) and Tarpley Baptist Church (2019-2024). Prior to his ministry as pastor, he served on the Ministerial staff in Copperas Cove (TX), Cotulla (TX) and Harlingen (TX) for 10 years. Pastor Fred holds degrees from The University of Mary-Hardin Baylor (B.A., 1989), Southwestern Seminary (M.Div. BL, 1994) and Denver Seminary (D.Min, 2004).
While preaching is his primary calling, Pastor Fred has always had an underlying passion for worship and missions. From leading worship to helping church plants and adopting missionaries around the world, from local missions and sending out missionaries, to casting the vision and challenge to reach an Unreached, Unengaged People Group in East Asia, he has served the local church.
Pastor Fred and his wife Lisa have served in various ministries together since the early 1980’s. They are the proud parents of three children and four grandchildren. Next to spending time with his family, he loves just about anything that has to do with the outdoors.

Jess Rollema

Associate Pastor (Youth Pastor)

Jess began volunteering in ministry during his later years of high school and into college as he knocked out general education classes at a local junior college with the intent of going to Cal Poly Pomona for an Engineering/Architecture degree. Low and behold, God has different plans. Jess transferred to Fresno Pacific University and by Spring of 2003, he earned a BA in Biblical Studies with a Minor in Contemporary Christian ministries.
During Jess' last year at Fresno Pacific he began interning at his home church, Grace Community Church in Visalia, CA. He was involved with Middle School, High School and College ministries during that internship where his passion for students continued to grow. He was then called to serve as Associate Pastor (Youth Pastor)  at First Baptist Church of Worland, WY in 2006 which was merged together with First Southern Baptist Church in 2020, now known has Crosspoint Baptist Church. He has the desire to see students' lives changed by God's power in their own life and the owning of their own faith by living a lifestyle of ministry through Bible study, youth gatherings, events, clubs and more.
Jess has been married to his amazing wife since 2004 and has two great kids who love God, sports, and being together with family.  As a family, they love road trips, camping in the mountains, crashing the waves at the beach, and games or movies at home. Jess can be seen volunteering in the Fellowship of Athletes clubs on the MS and HS campuses, coaching baseball, and other community involvement. He also spends time woodworking, renovating, and other hands on construction.

Jennifer Kumpe

Worship Leader

Jennifer has been known to be a “Jill of All Trades”, as she has worked in several vocational fields and studied  various academics in college. She eventually came to the realization she could not be a student forever and knuckled down to choose one path and finish her degree. She received her Associate’s degree from Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas in 2017. She will graduate this summer with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Educational Studies, with a concentration in Science, Mathematics, and Music. Her musical studies have included: church music, classical, opera, and jazz in voice, piano, and percussion. After graduation, her plan is to work on her Master’s Degree to help her be better equipped in music and ministry.
As a Minister/Pastor’s kid, she has never known life outside of serving in ministry and it has continued to be such a huge part of her life. Evangelism has been a passion of hers from the moment she came to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a child. At the age of 6, she began to use her chalk on the sidewalk to share the gospel and lead others to Christ. Don’t be surprised if you still see her doing that today! Growing up, her home was always filled with music and the desire to use those gifts to serve and glorify the Lord. Interestingly enough, when Jennifer was 13, she began to play the piano right here at Crosspoint when her dad was the pastor of the then First Baptist Church. She soon joined the worship team where she was mentored not only in music but in her Christian walk. It is her hope to follow in their footsteps and do the same here at our church. Through the years, she has been blessed to both serve with her church worship team and lead worship for the local church and various ministry events. Jennifer’s love for Christ, passion for music, and heart for the people of Worland continue still today and she considers it an honor to serve with her Crosspoint family and be back home “where it all began”.
Jennifer and her husband, Kristopher, were married in 2017. He takes claim for bringing her back home to Wyoming! Jennifer and Kris share their home with 3 beautiful girls who share their mom’s passion for music. No matter where they are or where they go, their lives are filled with music. They also love to spend time with their extended family, escape to the Big Horns whenever they get the chance, and simply spend as much time as they can together.

Haylie Carver

Church Administrator

Haylie has been the office administrator for Crosspoint Baptist Church since July of 2022. She graduated from Worland High School in 2021 and is planning on obtaining her associates degree through Northwest College online.  Before coming on staff she attended Sheridan College.
She enjoys working for her church and seeing the love and knowledge of Christ grow in her community. Haylie enjoys singing on the praise team at church and spending time with her friends and family.
